I swear to god having a car in new Yorkists the worst. I get a call around 4am from my cousin who I helped buy his first car, he lives near me and speaks no English and tells me they stole 2 of his rims. I am mad because seriously who does that so being that he comes to me for help a lot I had to deal with this and I am so tired at work because of it.

I’ve always thought that if you have wheel locks on that people would just slash all of your tires instead. But then I think, those guys aren’t looking to slash tires, they’re looking for an easy score so they may not do anything if you have wheel locks...
uggggghhhhhh

Though aren’t all the wheel lock lug nuts universal?
If so, they could probably just buy a locking lug nut set for 15 bucks or so and be set on all cars. I don’t know.

Most are different. I know that when I worked at the Infiniti dealer, there were about 20-30 different lock keys just for the ones that came from the Infiniti factory.

That’s one reason I never park on the street over night.

My SHO came with wheel locks. I wish someone had stolen the damn chrome wheels (as opposed to matte) because I do not like chrome wheels.

I thought everyone (at least in the car world) knew Accords were targets for this stuff?

New York is slowly reverting to how it used to be in the 80’s and 90’s. There are scumbags wherever you go in this world but having a dense population doesn’t help to limit crime. I always am nervous about what could happen to my wheels.

Hold on, gonna go install wheel locks ASAP...

So people should stop buying accords?

Sport model right? I see those Accord Sport 18s on everything (civics, CRVs, old accords, Toyota Sienna's, etc.) here in wash heights.

Wouldn’t wheel locks work?

Honda wheels are the most stolen, definitely need wheel locks. Luckily those wheels, which are almost always stolen are cheap and easy to find. Get him some wheel locks.

The car was asking for it, apparently.

Not even its the EX-L. But yeah in the heights there are a bunch of older Hondas with newer wheels.

Yeah I told him to get some wheel locks.

Nope. They don’t help at all.
Criminal scum knows how to hammer on a slightly smaller socket and get them off. All they do is annoy regular people that lose the key.

nope, not at all.

Seeing this is all the motivation I need to get off my arse and put those McGards on my Town Car. Been sitting on the bench for months..

Same thing happened to my friend a few months ago in Detroit. :(

Or they just get a five finger discount at O’reily’s and get their own keys.
